Cottesloe’s Diver Dog

Fisher Photography has been underwater lately discovering “Harvey“ the canine diving champion.

He is a three year old Wirehaired Hungarian Vizsla that lives next door to the Kermodes, friends of ours in Cottesloe.

Geoff Fisher and his staff photographer, Ange Coote, have created a market for underwater photos of swimming dogs.

“It’s very difficult to get great images, but also very rewarding. We fell about laughing when we first saw the images of this crazy dog and the girls” Geoff said.

The Kermode family are no strangers to pet photography. The hallway of their house features large canvas prints of their dogs made by Geoff and colleague Richard Syme. One photo features their old dogs, now deceased, in heaven, complete with angel wings printed on glass.

Yesterday we had 4yr old Juanita come into the studio with her mum to collect their finished artwork. They had a framed triptych and a fine art box full of lots of great prints of their family. Juanita wasn't through the door for more than a minute before racing down the hallways trying to find and "Wake Up" Geoff!

A character of note, Juanita wanted to thank Geoff for the photos.. and show off her beautiful pastel Pony Dress!

Christmas Delivery

The Byrne kids have plenty to celebrate. They have just left the studio with their beautiful 'Fisher portrait' made at Cottesloe Beach. Mum chose the face mounted acrylic presentation which will look sensational on their wall at home. "Its fabulous," said Sue. "And the kids just loved the photo session at the beach."

Meeting the Russell Family from Port Hedland:

The Russell's chose our 9-Up style in a Canvas medium instead of the usual Acrylic medium. I think this is going to look stunning and is a leighweight option which will suit the hot climate of Port Hedland.

Caitlin wanted to show us her dance moves in her beautiful pink dress.

18 Years Later

We used to love watching images appear before our very eyes in a developer tray in the dark room. These days things have changed a little; it's still exciting to ‘develop’ images on the computer; but to see the kids of 18 years ago, as they are today, is simply amazing.
Every few weeks, like clockwork, yet another family reappears. The parents look much the same, but their kids have made amazing transformations. How did they get so big?

Jennifer and Nick Hoskins and their three sons have just had a wonderful portrait session in the studio. With so many great photos to choose from they have just taken home a stunning 9up Acrylic Wall Mount and a huge black & white portrait of the boys printed on alluminium. Jennifer said it was headed for the mantelpiece in their formal area at home. ‘I can’t wait to see it up on the wall' she said.
When the Hoskins viewed their images, a week or so after their photo session, they brought some of their old photos from 18 years ago. The portraits of the early 1990’s make such an interesting comparison. For a family portrait photographer it’s just like watching a photo develop. Very satisfying.

We are looking forward to visiting the Hoskins to view their artwork up on their walls!

Chapman Valley landscape near Geraldton

The Easter break was a fabulous getaway to the Rogers farm on a plateau near Geraldton. The farmhouse sits high above cropped paddocks and neatly between beautiful valleys. Its the sort of place that begs you to get your camera out; especially early morning and dusk.

They had a photo session at home and are looking forward to 'running on the beach' with their little Sophia Patricia, born Jan 24th. Briohny is no stranger to Fisher Photography. Geoff photographed her and her family in the early 1990's.

Anoinette Has Her 9-up

Antoinette and Joe are building a new house in East Fremantle and are really looking forward to hanging their new work of art. "The kids loved it," she said of the studio session with Geoff. The 9-up concept is something different. Antoinette framed the nine prints in one frame with double mats.

ITS THE PRINCIPAL

Every now and then someone special appears before the camera and you want to make the best possible portrait ever! That happened recently when we made a portrait on canvas for Penrose College retiring principal, Glenda Parkin. Penrose College staff were really moved and inspired by the large canvas. The portrait was presented at an end of year college ceremony and will hang alongside other portraits of past principals.

Simone Barnes was blown away when she picked up her latest family portrait. In time for Christmas and 'just what she wanted,' Simone couldn't wait to get home with the 9-up acrylic which she said would be the centre of attention in her home. Fisher Underwater!

Yes, we have gone underwater with new state of the art equipment and now offer family portraits in the sea or in your pool. Its a bit of fun and the images are pure magic. So if you have a pool that's deep enough one end, invite us over and we will get creative.

New Products

We have added new products to our range and now you can enjoy free standing acrylic mounted portraits of your children. Maybe even an artistic portrait of your pet dog. The acrylic prints are 40mm (2 inches) thick and have a very modern look. We also make big acrylic prints which are quite different to the traditional glass and frame. Our most popular by far is the acrylic 9-up. Nine images in one large presentation.

New website

It took a while to get our new website up and running but I couldn’t be happier with the results. One thing this exercise taught me, some of the most talented people are working right here in Perth. I’m tipping my hat to my web designer, Ryan Briggs and Sarah Mitchell from Global Copywriting.

Social Media

Part of the new changes going on here is an effort to start communicating through social networking. You can find Fisher Photography on Facebook, Twitter and right here on my blog. It’s been a learning curve so bear with me while I get it all figured out. Look us up and leave a comment, drop us a tweet or write on our wall.
