Tips to Photo Shooting as a Couple

Being one of the best photographers in the Perth area, I know fully well that capturing those special moments in one’s life on camera can mean the world to those involved. Having been in the business for 35 years, we have experience with shoots of all kinds including maternity, newborn, family and couples.

The latter is a popular one for young couples who are about to get married, just married, or just as a bonding experience to remember their time together.

When preparing for this kind of shoot, there are a few notable things to remember so that you can make the most out of this unique experience.

The first is to decide what kind of clothes you’d like to wear. In a typical shoot, you may use multiple outfits, but picking out those outfits can be a major question.

The idea behind a couple shoot is that you want to coordinate your clothing in some way. That doesn’t mean that you should match exactly what the other is wearing, but rather wear colours that mix well together and complement each other. Clashing colours is the surest way to create spoiled photographs.

A second important thing to keep in mind is that your shoot should exemplify you–both as a couple and as individuals. Now is not the time to try out a new hairstyle or do something out of the ordinary for you because you may not know how that will turn out on the other side of the camera.

That being said, you want to shoot in places or in sceneries that say something about your relationship. Be it casual or formal, you want your photos to show off what you relationship is all about. These photos will last for a long time and you want to make sure that they are exactly what you want. This shoot will be a big event for you as a couple so make it count.
